006. Social Media: “Installation” Posts

The visuals (images/video) of an Installation post serve two purposes.
Firstly, it’s showcasing the quality of the product.
Secondly, it’s showcasing the quality and/or the process of the installation service.

The text is where there is an opportunity to provide more value to the audience.
With regard to the product, meaningful value can be added in the form of knowledge & expertise relevant to that particular product.
– What makes it a good choice compared with other options on the market?
– Which situations would it be an appropriate choice?
– Which situations would it not be appropriate?
– What things need to be taken into consideration when making your purchase choice?
– Pros & Cons
etc.

With regard to the service, adding on something like a “well done team” is something small that can encourage the growth of a positive social media community and demonstrates the pride and support that the team has for one another.
Beyond that, perhaps sharing some insight into any unforeseen challenges or obstacles that the staff overcame throughout the project.
– How long did the project take?
– Was there anything about the property or project that was special or unique?
– Was there anything that made the project particularly enjoyable or memorable to work on?
Even something casual like shouting out the local cafe that the staff might have frequented while the project was going on.
The theme here is community.

An installation post doesn’t need to have all of these things. Even just a couple of them will give it more value and depth.
Sometimes the post will have more emphasis on the product, sometimes the post will have more emphasis on the installation.

Regarding the Call to Actions, we don’t always need to be encouraging them to become customers. Yes, Vsupply is running a business, but we’re also just hanging out. This is a space for people that are builders, renovators, future home owners, interior design enthusiasts. Not everything here is going to end with us trying to get you to hand over your money. You can trust us.
Adding a CTA to get in touch for an installation project is okay of course, it’s just about keeping that balance between both running a business and keeping it casual. Not overdoing it.

In terms of the visual presentation, I think that we may be able to elevate it a little bit by leaning into the idea that we’re showcasing a high quality product.
I’ve uploaded a demonstration to illustrate what I mean. You can see it in action at:

Concept for the intro slide

We’ve got the intro slide, showing an up close of the product as well as the installation date, the product name and the colour name. It uses the familiar orange, creating branding consistency. It also uses the same font that we’ve used on the website. We build a bit of anticipation as to what the product will look like in action, inviting viewers to click the next slide.
The middle slides are the reveal, which is our typical photo album.
We then conclude with the final slide showing the Vsupply logo and website address.

This is just a concept for what future Installation posts could look like. You are encouraged to share your thoughts and ideas regarding any of this down below!

  1. Hi Julian, this sounds brilliant and I believe these posts really enhance the products that ‘little’ bit more. So does that mean you would be creating these for us or how will this actually work?

    1. Hi Jess,
Yes, you would just need to let me know when you had an installation post coming up, what the product used was and which colour it was and then I would create it for you and send the files across.
The easiest way would probably be to contain everything in a thread on the message board.

  2. Ok that makes sense.
So, at present we like to make at least 2 social media posts per week (my days in the office are Tues and Fri) so these are the days that normally happens.
Do you means basically sending you the details here on this thread? And then would I simply upload it to our social accounts, is that correct?
